We have been learning lots about fractions this year. Educational Insights has a super-fun, interactive, hands-on game that helps solidify fractions concepts: Their Free-Range Fractions Game!
The outside of the box hints at a rustic, farmyard feel, and the inside shows you just what fun fractions can be. Two egg cartons are included which are filled with removable, two-sided/colored speckled hen eggs (made of plastic). Fraction cards start the race. Thick and sturdy “denominator hoops” allow children to quickly “highlight” the fraction of eggs shown on their respective card drawn. The first player to correctly hoop and display the correct egg fraction wins that round!
Forty-five fraction challenge cards are included. The Free-Range Fractions Game is intended for two players, but up to four may play (two to a team). It’s recommended for ages 8+ (grades 3+).
