We had an unfortunate situation this past fall where a bat had found its way into our attic. Yuck.
To say I’m not a fan is putting it mildly.
But you know what? Stellaluna is one bat I don’t mind hanging out at our house.
Stellaluna, the heart-warming storybook by Janell Cannon many of us remember reading as kids, has arrived in animated format via NewKideo/Scholastic.
Fly along with Stellaluna in this 40+ minute animated feature as she seeks to find out who she truly is. Separated from her mother as a baby, Stellaluna is lovingly adopted by a family of birds, but still feels like she’s different and not quite a part of things.
When her brothers and sisters want to sleep, she’s wide awake and wanting to take off into the night and fly. She can’t sing — she doesn’t even have a beak! And what the birds call food is repulsive to her. It’s puzzling and frustrating….but she soon learns why she’s so vastly different from her playmates and embraces who she was created to be.
A memorable story with catchy tunes throughout, Stellaluna is a sweet addition to the video library of any child who loves animals!
You can purchase this Stellaluna DVD from Scholastic/NewKideo’s online store for $12.95.
