Learning Resources has, for a long while, been one of our favorite companies for high-quality, well-constructed items for both play and education. They’ve added a brand new line to their creative play/imaginative play assortment: The New Sprouts line!

We were sent the New Sprouts Munch It! My Very Own Play Food set a few weeks ago. Our little 5-year-old is always cooking up yummy foods in her mini kitchen. These realistic-looking foods and utensils add huge amounts of color and realism to her epicurean array!

 

 

 

 

 

 

These play foods are made of a durable yet soft (i.e., no sharp edges) plastic, with superb attention to tiny detail! Just look at this bowl of cereal….yum!

 

 

Not only does the New Sprouts Munch It! set encourage imaginative kitchen-themed play, it also boosts vocabulary and understanding of mealtime routines for little ones. (And notice that the selection of foods includes healthy options, allowing your child to create a well-balanced “pretend” meal or snack anytime of the day!)
