Somehow, as a child, I missed out on reading the Betsy-Tacy series of books by Maud Hart Lovelace. I don’t know how I looked over them — with other series such as the Bobbsey Twins on the top of my list as a kid.
My younger sister read them, though, and talks fondly of the series even today. I am always looking for wholesome, timeless tales to share with my daughter — and so when I heard that the first four Betsy-Tacy books were published into one collector’s volume, I knew it had to be ours.
The Betsy-Tacy Treasury includes:
Betsy-Tacy
Betsy-Tacy and Tib
Betsy and Tacy Go Over the Big Hill
Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown
Published by HarperPerennial’s Modern Classics umbrella, these four books with their precious black-and-white illustrations are together in one volume, a highly affordable paperback.
There are no humongous plots here or danger of any great kind — just pure and wholesome stories about growing up when life was simpler. Escape to yesteryear and enjoy The Betsy-Tacy Treasury with your little readers!
