You’ll be thrilled to know that he’s released a new book: Hooray for Amanda & Her Alligator!
Though children’s book-length, this book has six (NO, WAIT — six and a half) stories all about a book-loving little girl named Amanda and her come-to-life toy alligator pal.
Amanda and Alligator adore each other so much…best friends, in fact. Alligator has a slight edge to him, a short fuse, which is what, in part, makes him kind of cute. He has to learn patience when Amanda goes out on her outings to the library and the zoo. He has to learn temperance when he is forced to wait on a snack (and learned that books and people’s heads are NOT okay for eating.)
Alligator learns his worth when he begins to question his beginnings, realizing in horror that he was procured from a sale bucket. And he also learns a lesson supreme, a lesson in new friendship.

This book is such a joy to read and enjoy! The characters are precious and we are smitten with them. Mo Willems certainly knows what kids like and what they want in books!
