HarperCollins has debuted several adorable animal-themed children’s books this spring! Dear Tabby by Carolyn Crimi is one of those titles.

Think of Dear Tabby as a story about a feline version of “Dear Abby.” Tabby is a “street cat” who’s wise on the ways of the world despite her derelict living conditions. She’s been helping the animals of Critterville, Illinois solve their problems with their humans for “all nine of her lives!”

Several key pets appear in typewriting Tabby’s weekly advice column: A pretentious-owned black and white cat named Boots, a solemn Basset Hound named Manfred, an overly talkative parrot named Pauline, a skunk named Stanky with an awfully big heart, an exhausted hamster named Fizzy, an unhappy circus bear named Betty, and more. With wit and humor (and no-holds-barred realism), Tabby tells her answer-seekers what she’d do in their situation. Each and every pet’s situation turns out great due to Tabby’s awesome advice.
