This month, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Scholastic/New Video released He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands…and more stories to celebrate the environment. This DVD showcases four tales about the earth and the environment….plus contains three more bonus stories!

He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands is a visual adaptation of the well-known spiritual/song. The story is sung by Crystal Taliefero and celebrates the myriad of life upon our planet.

Giving Thanks: A Native American Good Morning Message is written by a Native American chief and is a lovely portrayal of a Thanksgiving Address of peace.

Come On, Rain! heralds the long-awaited appearance of a summer’s end soaking rainstorm, a reminder of the importance of water and rain to our planet and the life upon it.

Owl Moon is one of our family’s all-time favorite tales. It’s a sweet story about a young girl and her father on a late-night walk in search of the Great Horned Owl.

The three bonus stories (The Tale of the Mandarin Ducks, Patrick, and A Boy, a Dog, and a Frog) are equally entertaining and pleasing to little eyes and ears. The last of these is a live-action mini-film based on the book by Mercer Mayer.

He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands…and more stories to celebrate the environment is the perfect ensemble of books brought to life for nature-loving, eco-conscious kids ages five and up. You can find it in stores or order it from Scholastic/New Video for $14.95.
