Prima Princessa for the holidays
Do you have a prima ballerina at home? I sure do! She’s not even fully aware of my background in and passion for ballet, but my daughter has fully immersed herself in all-things-ballet recently. Next year she’ll be four and formal lessons will be possible, if she so chooses….but for now, I can let her watch, enjoy, and dance along with Prima Princessa’s DVDs!
We’re already huge fans and avid watchers of Prima Princessa’s Swan Lake DVD presentation, so when we heard that a new DVD was due out in time for the holidays this year, we just had to see it!
Prima Princessa Presents the Nutcracker did not disappoint. It is beautiful in scenery and set, mesmerizing in performance (as if you’re sitting right there in the theater seats), and packed full of interspersed ballet step tutorials by students of the School of American Ballet, as well as playful shorts (all about Christmas parties, holiday treats, and more) that your little girl will love.
The Nutcracker performance is by none other than the famous San Francisco Ballet. It is gloriously portrayed for the camera, narrated and explained in detail for little ears by the precious “cartoon fairy ballerina,” Prima Princessa’s special spokesperson! My daughter dons her complete ballerina ensemble before each DVD “performance,” and is spellbound and mesmerized during the entire show.
Of course, she can’t help but to join in and dance along with the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara, or the tutu-wearing girls her age that make a special appearance in the film’s “intermissions:”

This Prima Princessa presentation of The Nutcracker ballet would be a fantastic gift for your little budding ballerina. Purchase it now from Amazon (or any of these retail stores) for just $12 so she can enjoy it throughout the entire holiday season!
Thanks to the founders, Mary Kate Mellow and Stephanie Troeller, for another stellar Prima Princessa DVD to enjoy again and again!
Win it! Thanks to Prima Princessa, I have one extra Prima Princessa Presents the Nutcracker DVD to give away! Just head over to their website or their blog and tell me, in a comment below, something you learned or found fun. I’ll close the contest next Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 at 11pm EST. Sorry; US entries only. Good luck!
CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.
Congratulations to #4, Cheryl W, the winner of this Prima Princessa DVD!
