There’s a fun, electronic way to learn beginning letter sounds, spelling, number sequencing, multiplication, and more: It’s from the notable educational toy experts at Learning Resources, and it’s called Got It!

Though the monster-like arcade game may look a little fearsome on the outside, Got It! is a mammoth of an academic challenge that certain to be loads of fun for kids ages 5-8.

Though there’s an option for one-player games, usually G loves to challenge us to Got It! duels.

Got It 1

Got It 2

The game unit is a 2-faced “monster” that has two screens, one for each opposing player. Just grab the easy-to-plug-in joystick, choose a game type and level, and start playing!

Got It 4

Things we like about the Learning Resources Got It! game:

– There’s a headphone jack and volume control for quieter play.
– Automatic shut-off…a must for our multi-tasking family!
– The music is fun and funky….gets in your head, but in a good way!
– Bonus points can be gained during each round, and correct answers receive immediate positive feedback.
– The joystick is easy for little hands to grasp and learn how to use.

For preschool-aged kids like mine who are learning introductory phonics and letter sounds, this game is a great tool. As kids grow and expand their academic skills, more games are available at the click of the joystick button, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division equation challenges.

Got It 3

You can find Got It! at Learning Resources’ online shop or at these other fine retailers.

Win it! One of you can have Got It! to add to your own game stash, courtesy of Learning Resources! Just tell me another item by Learning Resources that catches your eye or that would be helpful in sharpening a certain skill in your child. This contest will close next Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at 11pm EST. Sorry; US entries only. Good luck!

CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

Congratulations to #23, Amy J, the winner of the Got It! game!
