You’ve heard me go on and on about how much our household loves cupcakes. And muffins. And mini meatloaves. We just love little things….and tiny, tasty morsels. I have an excellent recommendation for your kids if they love to cook….and love to cook little things, at that. Let me tell you about Cook It in a Cup by Julia Myall, a chef with an impressive background (but with a heart for kids).
It’s a spiral-bound, kid-friendly cookbook with thick, durable pages, boasting color photographs throughout of tasty main dishes, snacks, and desserts….all of which are able to be cooked in small silicone cups. Six rainbow-arrayed silicone cups are included in the kit, so once your ingredients are lined up, the baking can begin. My kids were enamoured by the cups themselves as soon as we opened the Cook It in a Cup package that Chronicle Books sent. They’re rainbow colored! They’re flexible! They’re tossable! They’re fun! And they’re cute.
So many delicious, dainty dishes can be easily made and served up with the help of this fun kit: Brownies, Tiny Fruit Tarts, Tomato, Bell Pepper, and Olive Frittatas, and Crispy Potato Nests (which are awesome looking and will impress any little one at dinnertime!)….just to name a few.
The cups are totally safe to use, are completely nonstick, and are microwave and oven-ready.
You can purchase Cook It in a Cup for $16.99 directly from Chronicle Books or at your favorite bookseller, online or off. What a thoughtful, compact, all-inclusive gift this would be for a little budding chef!
