A brand new Toon book is debuting in September, a comic for kids written and illustrated by Jeff Smith.
Little Mouse Gets Ready is about the cutest little mouse who’s hurrying as fast as he can to get dressed before his mom takes he and his siblings on a day trip to the barn. What follows is a hilarious progression of steps to get dressed without help….something any 3-6 year old can relate to!
My son giggled uncontrollably at the underpants scene — to think that mice need a hole for their tails to go through really turned over his tickle box!
After all of the trials and troubles he surmounts while putting on all of his pieces of clothing, he realizes at the end that all of his work is in vain — a child-sized version of a “surprise ending.” I love it. The last picture in the book had my son doubled over with laughter.
