I am excited to tell you about three terrific items from Patch Products and their partners, Smethport and Lauri! I’ve reviewed terrific Patch Products before and am excited to be able to do it once again.
First up: Smethport’s My First Magnet Kit!

Our oldest (almost 5) is entranced by anything remotely technical or scientific, so I knew this would be a huge hit. I was right! This kit comes with over ten magnets of various types as well as a host of other accessories to work with. Eight double-sided activity/experiment cards ensure that learning happens. There are a plethora of things your child can do and learn with this kit!

See how magnets attract and repel….

Play with magnetic fillings, the ever-popular “Wooly Willy” activity….

Make a car go magically (magnetically) with the included wand….
…and so much more. Here’s a short video of G demonstrating how two magnets’ opposite poles attract:

Another fantastic product is Lauri’s Dot-2-Dot Lacing Cards:

These sturdy, cardboard lacing cards combine two skills: Counting in order AND the fine motor skills required for lacing. We were able to receive the Enchanted Kingdom cards, and the images are bubbly, colorful, and fun to look at while lacing. Six large characters are included, as well as 6 multicolored laces.
Last but not least, we are loving the Great Big Sneaky Puzzle from Patch Products. Their newest design in the line of Great Big Sneaky Puzzles is the one we have, A Day on the Farm. Great and big it is — the finished size of this 46-piece puzzle is 2×3 feet! It’s double-sided for two fun scenes….and double the challenge. G put this together with just a little bit of help from me.
These great Patch Products can be found at several local retailers, mainstream and specialty stores. If you’re unsure about where to find Patch Products near you, you can follow the instructions on this page to locate Patch Products retailers. You can buy many other Patch Products via their online shop, as well as a host of other online retailers (such as Amazon, Fat Brain Toys, and Educational Learning Games.)
Win it! Courtesy of Patch Products, one of you will win your very own Great Big Sneaky Puzzle (“A Day on the Farm” version)! All you have to do to enter is head over to Patch Products and take a look at all of the wonderful toys and games they have to offer! Come back here and tell me in a comment your favorite item. I’ll close the contest next Thursday, July 16th, 2009 at 11pm EST. Sorry; US entries only. Good luck!
