Brand New From Putumayo Kids: European Playground!

Just in from Putumayo Kids, the world’s top record company for children, is a hodge-podge of lively tunes from the continent of Europe suitable for any aspiring travelers!  European Playground houses 15 songs that are incredible amounts of fun. We like to play this CD while we’re milling around the house. It’s terrific backdrop music for playtime! A peek into the liner notes shows the lyrics to the songs in four languages. There’s a well-rounded assortment of “sounds” on this album, ranging from Caribbean-inspired beats to Scottish reels. My kids particularly like London’s Herbie Treehead’s “Change Song.” (You can watch the quirky music video here!) Its instrumentals almost sound zydeco-esque, and it’s so hard not to put a smile on your face when it’s playing.

This is an essential CD to throw into the car for traveling…or onto the iPod for a trip to the park. Even from your own living room, playing from your home stereo speakers, this album will magically transport you over the oceans to a continent so rich, diverse, and enchanting.

European Playground hit the music store shelves yesterday and is available for $14.98 from Putumayo Kids, or most other online music retailers (Amazon, etc.)…or your favorite local music store!

Win it! Thanks to Putumayo Kids and Sugar Mountain PR, I am able to give away TWO copies of European Playground! All you have to do is head over to Putumayo Kids’ site and tell me another album that peaks your interest. I’ll close the contest next Thursday, May 28th, 2009 at 11pm EST. Sorry; US entries only. Good luck!

We love the French playground for fun times during the day and at night we always put on Dreamland. My daughter signs to some of the early ones in the cd to go to sleep to… love that!
