Hit a home run with this book!
It’s that time of year. Baseball is on the minds and in the hearts of nearly every American. And chances are, your children are getting geared up for it, too, if it’s one of their current (or newfound) interests or hobbies.
Want a neat way to teach them more about the sport, its technical aspects, and history as well as help them learn the alphabet? B Is for Baseball: Running the Bases from A to Z takes the cake! Vintage textures, antique appliqued graphics, classic fonts, and historical photographs from the American Baseball Hall of Fame combine together to create a book just perfect for a memorable bedtime (or anytime) read.
Simple words such as “glove” and “uniform” are included, as well as more advanced terms and lingo such as “tag” and “knuckleball.” The retro clipart, collegiate-style alphabet, and inspiring pictures are not something to be missed. Walk — no run — to pick up this book for your little (or big) baseball enthusiasts!
You can purchase B Is for Baseball: Running the Bases from A to Z directly from Chronicle Books for $15.99, or from your favorite book retailer.
Win it! Courtesy of Chronicle Books, I am able to offer one of you your very own copy of B Is for Baseball: Running the Bases from A to Z. To enter to win, just look at the other titles available from Chronicle Books for Kids and tell me one that stood out to you the most in a comment below. I’ll close the contest next Sunday, May 3rd, 2009 at 11pm EST. US entries only. Good luck!

My 4 year old son is just learning to read so I looked at the Beginning Readers 5-8 section. I was most distracted by the Creature Floor Puzzles, they are so gorgeous! Even though they are not technically books!
