I am super, super excited to tell you about Scholastic’s newest Storybook Treasures release: My Very First Treasury of 50 Storybook Classics: Preschool Stories!
Finally, in one box set (on 7 DVDs), fifty of the most beloved storybook classics for children of preschool age, brought to life with spectacular animation and celebrity narration as only Scholastic films can do! We have been thoroughly enjoying going through each volume within this set! Our favorites are Knuffle Bunny, Harold and the Purple Crayon, and The Snowy Day.
Here is a blurb about the set:
“The Scholastic Storybook Treasures series “gives viewers a new way to look at books,” says Scripps Howard News Service. And from the wild imagination of Harold and the Purple Crayon and the bouncy There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly to Mo Willems’ new classic Knuffle Bunny, the 50 beloved, best-selling children’s book adaptations in MY VERY FIRST TREASURY offer more than eight hours of quality children’s entertainment, colorfully whimsically animated and kid-tested. Librarians and teachers around the country have long been using these very same productions, created by Weston Woods Studios with authors and illustrators, to enhance their students’ pre-reading experiences. And this new compilation collects the best stories that are perfectly targeted to preschool children who can already read picture books, or are just learning about letters and words.”
“MY VERY FIRST TREASURY OF 50 STORYBOOK CLASSICS includes the following DVDs, which each includes several stories, with more than an hour of fun on each one:”
* CORDUROY…AND MORE STORIES ABOUT FRIENDSHIP
* GOOD NIGHT, GORILLA…AND MORE GREAT SLEEPYTIME STORIES
* HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON…AND MORE STORIES TO SPARK YOUR IMAGINATION
* IS YOUR MAMA A LLAMA… AND MORE CLASSIC CHILDREN’S STORIES
* KNUFFLE BUNNY…AND MORE GREAT CHILDHOOD ADVENTURE STORIES
* THE EZRA JACK KEATS COLLECTION
* THERE WAS AN OLD LADY WHO SWALLOWED A FLY…AND MORE SING-ALONG FAVORITES
You can purchase this wonderful set for your own family (or as a welcome gift) for $49.95. For this price, you get over 8 hours of enriching entertainment, beautiful accompanying music and stories brought to life before your child’s very eyes. Scholastic films aren’t just simple additions to your DVD collection….they are timeless heirlooms.
Win it! I am happy to tell you that, courtesy of New Video, I have one set of Scholastic’s Treasury of 50 Storybook Classics: Preschool Stories for one of you! All you need to do is hop over to their online store and browse around at their wide myriad of available titles. Come back here and, in one comment, tell me another DVD title from their collection that your children and family would enjoy! I’ll close the contest next Thursday, April 9th, 2009 at 11pm EST.
