A month or so ago, I told you about a fabulous, eco-friendly company based in Chicago called Greenheart. Their extensive line of fair-trade, artisan-made goods is so fun to browse! Handbags, desk accessories, jewelry, and stationery are just a few of the products they carry.
In their own words, Greenheart “believes consumers have the power to affect positive World change by supporting sustainable and fair business practices in their purchasing choices.” In today’s economy, it makes more sense than ever before to buy locally and from individual designers and crafters. I know I try to do this as often as I can, especially when it comes to gift-giving. It’s a more personable, unique item, plus it is a small thing I can do to help support local businesses and artisans.
Click over to my first review of Greenheart for more information and a pictorial sampling of all they have to offer, if you’d like.
And while you’re at it, stop by their online shop and browse around to see what else catches your eye.
Win it! Courtesy of Greenheart, and JUST in time for St. Patrick’s Day, I have a beautiful ladies’, long-sleeve, organic cotton Greenheart tee in size large for one lucky winner! This super-soft tee was made in India by fair-wage paid workers and retails for $24.00. If you’d like a chance to win, just shop around a while at Greenheart and then come back here and tell me one thing, in a comment, you’d also like to have (or give as a gift to someone) from their collection. I’ll close the contest next Sunday, March 8th, 2009 at 11pm EST. US entries only; duplicate commenters will be disqualified. Good luck!

I would so love the fabric cupcakes for Ava! She is so interested in food and while we are still just beginning to introduce veggies, I know she would love to “munch” on those adorable treats!

I would love (and may spoil myself in the near future with) the 2 tier stainless food carrier. I am always taking food here and there and looking back I have been super Un-green in buying disposable products just in case I leave one somewhere. I am pretty sure EVERYONE would remember that was mine!

My daughter was due on St Paddys day 3 years ago. She was born on 3/8, but I always think of it as a extra special day anyway.
She would love the Fairy princess puppet.
