New way to be trendy plus prepared: A Nurse Purse!

I am excited to be able to tell you about a ultra-trendy shop I happened upon a few months back:  Risky Beads!  This very talented lady creates some uber-fabulous jewelry.  I am the proud owner of a few pairs of her earrings myself, and I have gifted some of these beautiful wares twice (with rave reviews)!  The fun poetry/blurbs that go along with her pieces is half of the fun!  The packaging is always so creative, and anything can be “Risky Wrapped” at request.  I go back often just to browse and pine over the beautiful things showcased there.

Risky Beads has recently begun creating a piece of jewelry that’s both fashionable AND functional:  The nursing necklace.  With nursing necklaces, she goes the extra mile and packages them in a stylish fabric pouch.  The Nurse Purse itself was made by jennyndesign on Etsy. The entire bundle, the Nurse Purse, is so gift-ready!

Here’s a helpful description from her Etsy shop:

“Never heard of a nursing necklace? No problem. Many moms use a nursing necklace to keep baby occupied while feeding. It gives them something to hold onto and helps them stay focused while they nurse and keeps their wandering hand busy. Infants can easily hold onto the stones and slip their fingers in the holes. The Nurse Purse is a great way to try out a nursing necklace. If your baby isn’t interested, you still have a great pendant to wear!”

When I nursed my two, it did become quite a hassle to keep them focused and occupied while they were nursing — especially my oldest, who had a short attention span (and ate very slowly).  If these had been around then, I would have been first in line.

This 3″x2.5″ pouch can easily be tossed into a purse or diaper bag for ease of travel.  The necklace is fully adjustable simply by sliding the knot.

Would you like to win one? Risky beads has generously offered one of you the “Faded Memories” Nurse Purse!  Below is a photo and description of what’s up for grabs:

“This pendant is made from a 30mm oval jade donut, dark brown waxed cotton cord, a milky pale green pony bead, and brown ceramic spacers. The ‘purse’ in the This Nurse Purse  (made by jennyndesign), and the particular fabric in this Nurse Purse is a Liz Claiborne paisley.”

Risky Beads, to help promote this new item, is putting together a promo pack that will be sent out to the winner (and anyone else who orders a Nurse Purse), full of special offers and coupons for other Etsy designers — Fabulous tote bags, hip pockets, and more at jennyndesign — advocacy clothing, natural wooden toys, custom ring slings, and cloth diapering accessories from Eenie Beanie Threads — movable storytime wall murals at loribiebel — and uniquely fantastic art from Sugar and Cream.

All you have to do is go visit Risky Beads’ Etsy shop and browse around awhile.  Go and see the other Nurse Purses up for sale, or anything else — it’s all lovely!  Then, come back here and tell me in one comment another thing that caught your eye.  I’ll leave the contest open until 11pm EST on Friday, October 17th, 2008.  I’ll announce the winner the next morning.  Good luck!

AND! Risky Beads is offering FREE SHIPPING to anyone else who visits the shop and purchases something while this contest is running.  Just be sure to mention in the notes to seller that “Muse Reviews” sent you to get the discount!
