When left to his own choices…

…G comes downstairs almost every morning wearing dark socks with sandals and socks on his hands.

Socks G

He claims the socks on his hands are gloves. You know. So he’ll be ready when snow comes. In January.

The socks with his sandals are his own special fashion statement. We’ve tried to discreetly and sweetly let him in on the fact that it looks kind of like a cross between an elderly man and a 1950s French school boy. Yet he doesn’t care.

And you know? His self-assurance and confidence overrules our social mores and fashion faux-pas convictions.

And that’s pretty awesome.

That is, unless this trend continues on into the high school years.

Those are the battles not worth fighting! When my son was little, he use to fall asleep with his snow boots on and finally outgrew it. I always choose my “battles” carefully.

Ha, ha, ha!! What is it with boys this ages…or maybe just our unique boys. I JUST took an almost identical picture of Brighton the day before you posted this: http://img198.yfrog.com/i/lz5l.jpg/
