Alphabet paper piecing puzzle

One of the activities included in our Alpha Omega Horizons Preschool curriculum kit was alphabet piecing puzzles.  There’s a set of “shapes” for both uppercase and lowercase letters.  Every letter of the alphabet can be formed with the handful of shapes provided.

The kids absolutely devour this activity.  As I began to think about its concept, I realized it’s very much like Handwriting Without Tears. I can see how wholly understanding how letters are formed and put together create a solid base for handwriting.

Of course, there is the other needed ability of controlling a pencil. (There are two great resources for pre-writing printable worksheets here and here.)

This looks fantastic! Does anyone know if these shapes exist somewhere outside of the curriculum (which I don’t own)?
