WFMW – Menu box

Recipe boxes are pretty common. But my husband gave me a novel idea last week….why not a menu box?

I posted on a previous WFMW about the way I decide on and write down our menus for the week, posting them on the fridge for easy view.

I file every week’s list in a folder in my file cabinet. The folder was growing bigger and bigger and taking up valuable space….and I admit, it wasn’t very convenient to pull out to reference. My husband said “why not cut them apart and put them into a box?” That way the main dish, vegetables, breads, and desserts are all together, and complete meals that “worked” can be recreated with ease.

I was skeptical at first, as I am with many changes to be had, but I admit this is an ingenious idea. Menu planning just got a whole lot easier (and quicker), thanks to my super-smart soulmate. :)

What a smart husband you have. I love this idea and will definitely be incorporating it into my fall “getting reorganized” plan. this is a beautiful page, btw. Love the colors and the stripes.

Love this idea! :D Thank you for sharing!!

That is a great idea. I usually wind up looking back at my old menu plan Monday posts which can get to be a bit time consuming.

Super idea! Thanks for sharing it!

Clever! My menus are in a small hardcover spiral notebook/journal, that’s where i also jot down recipes. It sure does help to have it all in one, easy-to-reference place!

That is a great idea. I like the concept you have here and may implement something similar.

Thanks, Elaine H

Great idea.
I never work with premade menues, simply because I don’t have the ingredients available all the time.
But this idea is great nevertheless.

Have a wonderful day.

Great idea – thanks for sharing! I am even going to try the allrecipes recipe you use – braised balsamic chicken – that looks like a winner :0) (always looking for new dinner ideas)!
