Recently, our schooling has been a bit split down the middle. The kids are starting to want to do their own thing….choosing not to always work on the same projects at the same time. The beauty of schooling at home is that I can accommodate to this, within reason, of course. Sometimes G just isn’t feeling that crafty — he’s rather do written work. This past week, he asked if he could complete some worksheets in his dry-erase notebook while R worked on the craft project.
R colored and decorated large sheets of construction paper.
When she finished, I folded the paper in half width-wise and cut out a large heart shape. I flipped the blank sides so they’d meet, then stapled around the edges, leaving an opening at the top. R and I scrunched up scrap paper and tossed it in, then I sealed it shut with more staples. We hung our puffy paper hearts in the doorway with fishing line for a quick, simple, festive Valentine-y decoration.
