So I finally pulled out the bento ware I ordered recently from IchibanKan. So much fun!
I began by making the onigiri, the “main dish” in the bento boxes for the day.
I then got to work pulling out any bento-worthy food and dicing it, sticking it, and spearing it. In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have attempted my first bentos the day we needed to go grocery shopping; I was having trouble making them full.
45-minutes later, they were ready for their debuts. I was especially proud of my “pepperoni trees” shedding their leaves of cheese.
The rice boy didn’t turn out as cute as I’d hoped. He was actually kinda creepy.
G picked through his bento so deliberately, so seriously. He made me laugh to watch him inspect every piece.
R had FUN with hers. She was having a little TOO much fun — she wanted to eat the food picks, too.
And the onigiri. Oh, how she loved her little rice bears. Rice was everywhere.
They don’t call it “sticky rice” for no reason. *grin*
