I think the most thoughtful gift i’ve ever given, is the possible donation of my kidney to a friend. We’re still in the process, and I may not even be able to, but I wanted her to know I was willing.

A few months ago I was able to surprise my husband with a weekend away for the first time in our marriage. We got married early 2004, and by the end of sept 2007, we had had 3 babies and lost 4 jobs. I saved and saved extra money for about six months, then surprised him with a hotel room 3 hours away from home. And with NO CHILDREN!! that wasn’t it. I bought tickets for 3 bands we have been wanting to see for 6 years. Then again the next night 2 more bands we were anxious to see. He didnt know about any of it!! He didnt even know who we were seeing till they were on stage! It was the best gift I have given and plan to make a picture collage of the weekend framed for him for christmas.

I think that the best gift I give is a journal to new moms to write notes to their new baby so that the child has perspective and even more love towards their mother

The most thoughtful gift I have ever gotten was small, but so sweet. Until a few years ago I was a single mom. We didn’t have much, but we got by and bought gifts via the thrift store for the most part. Well one year I was talking about how much I would love a sewing machine. My son saved up his allowance and on Christmas day I woke up to find a home made sewing kit from him. He had gathered buttons, sewing needles, thread, and fabrics that he had picked up at the thrift stores in the area with my mom. It was the sweetest thing EVER.

My most precious gift i ever recieved was from God and there was 2 gifts, both girls!!
My most thoughtful material gift was from my mom, every year sge puts a ideal christmas book in my gift and when i was a little girl i use to go threw her ideal books and play with them now i give my girls these books too! they’re beautiful!

I had a friend in high school give me a journal full of “quotes” that she’d collected over time – it was and always has been very precious to me!

I gave my brother in law, while he was in law school, a basket of legal pads, pens, pencils, coffee, aspirin, and chocolate treats. He loved it.

When my cousin got her own apartment she mentioned that she was trying to learn how to cook, so for Christmas I made her several mixes– for cookies, soup, etc– and packed them in quart jars decorated with ribbon and instruction labels. She said she really liked it.
