My favorite recipe from my grandmother is a handwritten note card and it starts off - 25 cents hamburger. lol I started writing in only one of my cookbooks so far - but it certainly is VERY helpful. I also put a paper clip on the page where a tried and true recipe is, so that I don't have to search the index for it. So often a recipe is named something different than what I would call it. And there's no shame in collecting cookbooks! Maybe I could use post-it notes? My Mammaw used to do this and now that she is gone I love going through and reading her little notes when I start missing her. I do the same thing in my cookbooks.
