MTM Challenge – Shapes!

Sycamore Stirrings announced a theme for this week’s Muffin Tin Monday: Shapes! We had fun with this one. Since we had a heavy lunch, this suppertime tin was meant to be a heavy snack….but the kids had been playing outside most of the afternoon and were famished — needless to say, most of the tins were repeatedly refilled! (Although not cut into more shapes every time. Phew.)

MTM - Shapes

(Left to right, top to bottom: Parallelogram jam sandwich, cheddar cheese squares, graham cracker rectangles, banana crescents (although they look more like PacMans), cherry spheres, corn tortilla circles, red pepper diamonds, oatmeal squares cereal, M&M circles, carrot circles, apple semi-circles, and Ritz circles.)

This MTM actually crafted quite the questions and conversations over dinner. I asked the kids which shape was the best one for rolling, i.e., making wheels out of, as well as gave them a mini-lesson on the definition of a polygon. *grin* What a fun theme!
