Airing out.
We haven’t been inside much the past couple of days. We had a cool front move through which brought temperatures in which top out around 70 — so we have been enjoying every second of it by being outdoors whenever possible. It’s also been nice to keep the house windows open to vent out all of these stubborn cold germs once and for all….
The kids can finally start to enjoy the play fort, since it’s not blasted hot out this week, at last.

G loved the air outside so much, he said he wanted to “eat it for lunch:”

G and Ajala crouched by a hole in the yard (we think moles live there, maybe?) waiting to see a peek of some sort of critter. This is where we find Ajala staked out every morning.

We have been doing a few, non-structured school activities this week. We learned about our hearts and how they work to pump blood all over our bodies. This morphed into a red water pumping/transferring activity.

Another painting variation/texture idea: Paint with a comb.

The kids also worked on their self-portraits this week. R’s was very abstract and very inundated with massive amounts of purple glitter. *grin* G’s art is becoming more and more complex and life-like. I love asking him about his drawings when he’s finished. This time his commentary was, “This is me going down my slide — see my hair sticking up? — while eating rainbow colored cotton candy.” Exactly.

This might sound kinda funny, but I wanted to warn you: my brother got bit by a mole when he was little. Fortunately, he was able to, ahem, kill it, because the thing had to be tested for rabies. I just thought I’d let you know, in case your little one starts to make a habit of hanging around that hole!
