Today’s “Works for Me Wednesday” is a product purchased by Ken and I for G a while back, partly out of necessity (well, he just came out and asked for one) and partly because we just couldn’t resist….it’s so darn cute.
And the best part? It’s safe. No plug prongs that give your tyke a zap if he decides to play with the night light….it’s fully rechargeable, a charge lasting 8 hours or more. And it’s PORTABLE. Kids can literally take this guy with them down the hall for a middle-of-the-night potty stop. What other night light can do that? (We refused to light up our hallway with rows of plug-in lights, making it resemble an airport landing strip.)
I’m talking about the TykeLight, and I truly believe it’s worth every penny. It’s not only a light, it’s a friend (we’ve nick-named him “Glow Buddy”).
You can buy TykeLights in a variety of neon colors via Amazon. And we also own an IKEA version, SPOKA, a slightly more alien-looking buddy, with a soft, pliable body instead of a hard plastic shell. Both are great….we’d recommend them equally if you’re liking this concept.

i saw those at Sam’s Club and was wondering if they actually worked. Sounds like that’s something we might need.

Do the battery compartments just clamp shut or do they have screws? Because I have a very inquisitive child who has broken all of our previous night lights :)
