Today’s “Works for Me Wednesday” (hosted by Rocks In My Dryer) is right up your alley if you have tots at home with frequent allergies or colds. Anybody knows that kids can be an endless faucet of, well, snot….and when it lingers on for 10 days or more, their little noses can get pretty red and irritated.

Enter cloth diapers. I received a huge stack of them when G was born and used them for burp pads….and as he grew older and got a runny nose on occasion, I began using them as nose wiping rags. What’s not to like for this purpose? They’re super-absorbent, super-soft, and portable.

And for all other germ freaks out there, they are not necessarily an unsanitary option….they are thicker than tissues and therefore leak less onto your hand as you wipe their noses….and they’re white, meaning that they can be easily tossed into the washer with hot water and bleach for supreme disinfecting!

Cloth diapers as nose wipes works for me!!

What a good idea! I’ve got a whole drawerfull of these from when Wendy was a spitter-upper. This would be an easy thing to throw in the diaper bag.

Aren’t they great? We use smaller hankies most of the time, but I love the flat diapers for major colds when my nose is running like a faucet!
